Yahoo! Wanderlust: Update
Nov 26 2011A few weeks ago we posted tell you all that we were going to be out shooting video for a Yahoo! web series. Well, the video is finished. Take a few minutes and head to Yahoo! Wanderlust and check it out. All of the shots of the Field of Dreams Movie Site in Dyersville, IA was shot by us last month. Even though it would have been nice to take the trip to the Field of Dreams in a little warmer weather, it was still fun to stop by such an iconic movie site to shoot video for company like Yahoo!.
Yahoo! Wanderlust
Oct 31 2011Tomorrow we will be out at the Field of Dreams shooting footage for a web series that is featured on the Yahoo1 News blog called “Wanderlust”. No One Is An Expert
Oct 05 2011Below is an article that I found interesting. I agree with some of it, but not all. I do agree that buying a camera and some software does not make you a professional, however, I do believe you can become a professional without working 20 years in the business.
Businesses and potential clients who are looking for a production house to outsource to should be careful about hiring those people who think they are professionals because the have a nice camera and a gaming computer they can edit video on.

The Bender Stik
Aug 08 2011
The last couple weeks we have been working with Impact Marketing in Waterloo to produce some testimonial videos for the Bender Stik website. The videos turned out great are now up on the site. Head over to www.BenderStik.com to check them out. And for any golf enthusiasts out there, consider picking one of these up. I swung with it for about 10 minutes and figured out where my slice was coming from.
We have some more projects in the works, but we will have to wait until later to give you the details on those. Hopefully we can tell you more soon.

UNI Suzuki School of Music
May 17 2011This past weekend we had the pleasure of shooting the UNI Suzuki School of Music spring performance. It was an exciting shoot because of the numbers that were on stage. For the finale there were over 150 performers on stage at one time. This made for some creative shooting.
Overall the shoot went very smooth with very few snags. We shot everything with the DSLRs and recorded all of the audio with two Zoom H4n recorders. Using the equipment that we did means we were able to quickly set up and tear down since.
After the performance we went out and shot some b-roll around the GBPAC. We will post a short clip later.
Editing has started on the video and we at planning to wrap this one up within a few weeks. When it is done we will post some clips from throughout the performance.
Till then,

“Becoming the Wolf” Premiere
Apr 24 2011Hey Everyone,
Last night we finally premiered our documentary that we have been working on for 8 months. “Becoming the Wolf” is a story about Roy Jones, a local fighter from Waterloo, IA, and his journey to the UFC.
Last night, over 80 friends, family and fight fans gathered at Becks Sports Brewery in Waterloo to see the Premiere screening of the documentary. We had a great feedback about the film and everyone seemed to have a great night. In addition to watching the film, we raffled off 5 Roy Jones autographed movie posters, 2 Roy Jones autographed shirts, and 2 pairs of autographed Roy Jones trunks.
The night was a complete success and we appreciate everyone who made it out to the event. Sharing our work with everyone made all of our hours of work well worth it. So see a trailer of the film, visit the Official Facebook group. The film will be submitted to a few film festivals in the coming months. We will keep you updated on the status of their submissions and if they get into any of them.
Thanks again to everyone who was in attendance. We appreciated all of the support and comments that you gave us.
Check back soon for more updates

“Waste” in Advertising
Mar 17 2011Some people believe waste is a bad thing, money down the drain so to speak. This is an article that was sent to me today by a fellow producer, Nick Helten, about “Waste” in advertising and how it really can benefit an organization or company.

“waste”
It may or may not have been Lord Leverhulme who started it, but whoever who it was, the demon of “wastage” has long stalked media and budget discussions. But never more so than now, it seems to us.
More and more, our old friend “wastage” crops up – usually in breathless support of the efficiency of on-line activity, compared with TV. To quote from a recent contributor to Admap; “online media, pound for pound, is cheaper and more cost effective than traditional media models based on largesse, waste and inefficiency.”
This is one of those dangerous situations we often come across, where choice of word puts an instant, but erroneous, value judgement on a fact…. how can wastage be a good thing?
